went to Auto Zone and picked up 2 pair of self greasing hubs for the trailer. You replace the stock dust cover with one that has a rubber fill pocket and grease fitting to fill from the outside of the hub, essentially making it so you dont have to remove the bearing or the dust cover to grease the bearings.
The grease reservoir is spring loaded so as old grease thins out and escapes the bearing, the spring pushes new grease in it's place. It is a slick little innovation that my father in law showed me. Picked up a set of 32x11.5 BFG MT's with 30% tread left. Gonna bring them up and maybe try running them in the winter some and see if they are worth the effort. If not, then at least they are functioning spares or can be used as a set for bartering

I've been running bearing buddies on my snowmachine trailer since '97. Never had a problem.

is that what they are called? It seems to be a good design. That and the tranny temp guage were my onlyy remaining worries. I want to put my best foot forward on this haul back up the ALCAN.

Yeah I just make sure they are topped off before every trip. You can tell if they are just by looking at them.

I need to go and get a set of those as well.

Newly installed used front axle shaft, and manual hublocks. Now next time I break an axle I won't have to take apart my hubs to drive home... Drained water/oil mixture from front diff and replaced broken vent tube which was also full of water. Trying out marine grease for the first time.

XJ bumper functional and most cosmetics done. Still need to make the end pieces but have no time. also need to get a new bolt and square nut to securely mount the winch again.
New bearings and seals on the D44. NEw front axle shaft u-joints. Lets see how long these last. MTR's mounted:myself:

Bronco has the entire front axle disassembled. Lockright installed in the carrier. Going to Youngs tomorrow to get a ring gear bolt kit. Think I might 2 day air a mini spool for the rear. Looking into disk brake conversion but not sure it will come through in time so I will most likely reinstall the drums.
