Kodiak Dodge Wrote:Looks like Fairbanks could use a couple more fullsize wheelers. You know where I can pick up a Ford Dana 60 frontend? Yes we do!! Good luck on the 60, at least from what I hear...heard of quite a few looking, but nobody finding any. Of course I don't know how hard some of these people are trying, were theres a will there is a way?

AK20 Wrote:I would go as far as buying a complete rig to score the axles I want. That seems to be about the only way you can get a D60 for a reasonable price anymore. Wish there was a way I could get my set of 60's here in Kodiak to Fairbanks. I think I have my front D60 sold for $700. Its out of a late model Dodge.Kodiak Dodge Wrote:Looks like Fairbanks could use a couple more fullsize wheelers. You know where I can pick up a Ford Dana 60 frontend?

Much better AJ! ;D
Now, how much do you think can you get out of those used Metro tires you were running! Dusty - would a Dana 60 from a 79 Dodge work? You need pass or drivers drop? What rig you wanting this for? the Jeep? If so, get a dana 300 that would give you pass side drop and get my Dana 60/Dana 70 axles.

I need the Driver side drop for the Dodge. I only bought the Jeep to find out what all the Hype was about. May sell it later this year.
I had a set of D60's out of a 99 1 ton Dodge and a D60 and LS D70 out of an '83 Dodge 350

Well, what's to say? The Beast is down and out for the count. My passenger side tie rod looks like a soup ladel. I called NAPA, $130 for a set of four tie rods. It's gonna be awhile before I have her up and running again.

Does anyone have one of those thingys that you use to take Tie Rods out with? I have a spare one that use to be in the X. It looks different than what I have, but it's straight. I was going to see if it'll fit.

I have pickle forks for rods and ball joints if thats what you need.
14 Jan 06, 11:26 pm
If that is what they are called they will definately work. Martin mentioned to me that they look something like a tuning fork. I have no idea what they look like. I've never worked on tie rods before. But, considering the circumstances I guess I'll have to learn if I want to get my truck fixed.

Pickle fork:
Wedges between the two arms and surround sthe joint, pulls the two pieces apart. Pretty much a prybar that doesn't mar the joint surface. Whee, learn something new every day.

I got the front tie rod straightened a bit. The truck is drivable, but I don't trust it offroad. I also, got my light bar installed on the top of it. Looks cool. Just gotta get some lights for it.

How about a 12 pack of sprite? Bring the soda and we can take them off anytime.
