update for lil' T:
It is holding together faithfully thus far. The exhaust is loose at the manifold. Tightening it doesnt seem to help much. I replaced the rear track bar bolt. That made the ride nicer. My rear diff cover is leaking from somewhere, so it will be time to get back into the rear diff and tinker around soon. If the engine and tranny hold together for 6 more months, I will consider myself blessed. In a perfect world I would be able to go pick up a bare bones 03 TJ with 4.0L and NP3500 tranny, and transfer all of my goodies to it and sell the red carcass for 500 dollars, but I just checked my wallet and that is a big no-go

Update on the Burb;
Found a way to finance the engine rebuild. I will wait till the funds have been verified, then I will work on getting the motor out and apart. Hopefully if all is well, it will be broken in prior to meet and greet. Got way too much to do on the FSJ before then as well.

naturalbornmudder Wrote:The first statement and the second statement seem to contradict each other. How do they contradict each other? I said it's fine if the front is made wider than the rear. I didn't say the method it was done is fine. If you drive around LA you'll see an awful lot of those desert trucks with wide fronts and stock rears. They don't seem to have any problem. I've seen quite a few of them in Anchorage too. Heck, Wayne was going to do that kind of setup on his Tacoma.

either way, I'll bet that the axle width difference in Geoff's rig is causing his unpredictable handling when changing lanes and driving to work, plain and simple.

I finally got the BB installed on the WJ,
Before, After Before, After, Nothing special but it sure looks better.

Looks nice Tom.
The toyota finally has a gas tank that fits. It got new (used) bucket seats and the radio is wired and needs mounted someway. Now I can enjoy driving it a little more once the XJ goes under the knife.

Have a nice puddle of PS fluid under my truck.
Chevy ordered the wrong ball stud for my clutch linkage. Have the correct ones on order. May actually work on mine this week a bit - change to the amsoil fluid I've had for it for about 8 months now. :whistle:

OK, here are some pics that I snapped yesterday in the shop...
What my Jeep looks like this week: Kenne Bell layed out prepped for the install:

Got the correct Ball studs for my clutch linkage - and installed one of the two I got!
Also fixed the PS leak (hose had come off the metal line, even though the clamp was still tight and the metal tube is flared! :eek: It was replaed, with 2 clamps. I also refilled my empty PS resevoir with the Amsoil synthetic tractor hydraulic fluid and it seems to be working well. I couldn't find the exhaust gasket I need to replace, so I tightened the collector bolts up for my Tuesday trip. Then pulling into the visitor center I found the gaskets in the glove box. (I'm only typing this so I will remember where they are!) With all that done, I found a reoccuring problem yesterday of one of my hubs not engaging. I think there is moisture in there that is preventing it from locking in as this happens only when it sits for long periods of time with the hubs unlocked. Tuesday when I came home from the trail ride I drove in 2wd, hubs unlocked and parked it overnight. Then Thursday I noticed the hub wouldn't re-engage. Need to clean and re-pack bearings.

Shoulda seen that coming...
Here ya' go. Basically for those that don't know, I chopped the frame and are back halving it with tube. 18" fox airshocks, and four linked rear and three linked front. Moving the gas tank into the "bed" for more clearance. 1" heims on the lower end of the links and either(haven't fully decided yet) 3/4" heims or 1" uniballs on the uppers.
