I still have to do my SOA conversion that has been in the planning for like a year now.

My motor is going to the machine shop this week!!!! to get rebuilt

I ordered a new Carb like 10 mins ago ( I'm waiting for Fuel injection when I get home) I have a 4.0L out of a 1993 Cherokee sitting in my garage and I'm taking the Fuel Injection off of that.

After that I'm putting my 4:56 Gears in the rear with my LockRight locker.

AND DRIVE THE CRAP OUT OF IT!!!!:driving: :driving: :driving: :driving:

I guess the suspense was too much for some to know what I am getting they had to torture my wife for information, I will let you all know what I ordered before she's held hostage for info. J/K Mike.lol I ordered the Iron Rock 3.25" suspension lift, 5 Kuhmo 834's and some front tow points rated at 5,000 lbs a piece.

Well, Mike and I went and put the tires on last night. Black walls out of course. Look pretty good. Received box 1 of 3 today for lift kit so I guess the others should show up Monday or Tuesday. Maybe can get it installed on Saturday. If so, I might give the Sunday 55 Mile a try.

Sweat irony you might call it...

Some of you know that when I bought my winch I recieved a bunk solenoid box with it, thus it didn't work and I never knew until the day before the April Fool's Day FCT run... Well after the run I talked to MM and they had me send in the box so they could exchange it with a new one. Yesterday it showed up, I installed it a couple hours ago and wahla, my winch now works!!! The sweat irony is now it's good to go, and I won't be able to use it until next year!!!!

My zuki...still needing tcase mount fixed. rear receiver installed. spare tire carrier made. Better install the mount in the next few days! Trying to get my remodel done and fixing other's vehicles is stretching me out pretty thin.

Scott's zuki (LNS' old zuki) Motor out and torn apart. Lost #2 rod and #4 rod about to come apart as well. Rods aregetting resized and pistons installed. Block needs honing only (hopefully) and the crankshaft needs polished. Front locker should be coming fairly soon as well! What's nice is Scott is working on my remodel while I'm tearing apart the zuki. Talk about fair exchange of labor! :allrighty:

Shocks should be in today or tommorrow. Anybody not going on the Saturday 55Mile that might want to help put the lift on the WJ. Looking at doing it at the EAFB Auto hobby unless someone has a place. I have no tools anymore so no sense in doing it in my garage.

Box 3 came today. The only thing I don't have that doesn't come with the kit anyways is the Disco's. Should have them before long though.

Well michaeljr5 came over today to help me with my bumper. It didn't go as planned though. mike painted it with undercoating that I bought and it say's it drys in 15 to 20 min. we waited around 30 min and it was still wet. so michaeljr5 has it at his house and we are going to wait till tomarrow to install the bumper and winch. I really hope that stuff sticks. Thanks Mike:rockon: :allrighty:

Ordered the gears and locker for the TJ full-widths. I'll get started on that project, eventually. I'm not even home yet, and already have a mile-long to do list around the house.
I also ordered 2 remaining control arms and 2" spacers for the ZJ. After installing that, building some skid plates, and installing some discos, I'll wheel that (lightly) this summer. I'm gonna miss the convertable.

Found a free rear seat, tranny and door panels for my zuki. Rear seat came just in time as I was going to Los Anchorage to buy one this weekend. Don't worry Kyle, I'm still going to get the other stuff Wink .

Started up BADZUK (LNS' old zuk) last night. Fired it up, 50 psi oil pressure, 6k idle rpm...corrected the rigged throttle and secondary linkages and now it idles fine. Lower radiator hose has a leak that can't be tightened away, so a new hose tonight and a trip down the block.

After fixing this rig, I have to say:

You can't use black tape to plug vacuum ports, but you should use it cover electrical wires.
1/4" of front driveshaft spline engagement isn't within factory specs.
A Bungie cord isn't an approved battery holddown...especially with a tip-over prone zuki.
Plugging turn signals into fuel injection harness is bound to give you driveability issues.
If your installing a new head, clean off ALL the gasket material on the manifolds, not just half of it.
Secondary linkage needs to be hooked up to work. Installing a return spring on the secondary linkage attachment point makes it hard to hook up the secondary linkage.
If your going to run a power wire unprotected under the floormat, through a floor drain and loosely wrapped around stuff to the fuel pump, put the fuse on the battery side, not next to the pump!
Shocks are softer than the spring mounting plates. A little trimming is a quick cure.

Funny stuff, but many of these items were a problem just waiting for a trail ride for it to fail on. My point would be this: How many of us have a few "little problems" that should be dealt with before the next trail ride? I'm going to do a impartial lookover of my rig and fix the "little things" before it becomes someone elses problem (like while on a trail).:allrighty:

In his defense I don't think he did much of that himself....just the carb work. Oh wait, yeah he did......lol.

The reason of the post wasn't to pick on John, it was actually to show the kind of things that can be made to "work", but come back to bite you in the butt later. I'm going to Anchorage to get another carburetor to replace a couple linkage pieces that were missing from the stock carburetor. Judging by all the other things I found, the stock carb is probably going to work just fine!

I went to put the shocks on Monty's rear end today that 28this gave me. They are 2 inches longer than my stock ones, but the bottom bolt that attaches to my axle is too big to fit through the shock's bushing. Now what do i do?

I can't get the metal center out of the bushing to just slide the bolt thtrough it. So that doesn't seem to be a logical solution. If I use a smaller bolt, won't it "bounce" around inside the bracket on the axle?
