Anyone have a slide hammer with pilot bearing removal doohickey that I could borrow? I don't really want to do the grease and bolt method but will if I have to.I have a slide hammer you can borrow but I'm not certain the attacments I have are small enough for a pilot bearing. I was able to remove the needle bearings inside a spindle easily with it the other day.
The bolt and grease trick is easy. Wash off the flywheel with Brakleen when you are done and the grease is not an issue. I have a motor on the stand right now that needs a new pilot bearing. I'll give you a quick demonstration if you want to see it done before you tackle it.
