Update your rig status here!

I was looking at this pic again, and had a Idea

Is there a chance that a rogue rock could jam that triangle backwards, in effect, tweaking your sterering knuckle? It may be worth it to put a 90* gusset on the back side, just in case.
Hard to tell all the way from **.**.***.**.bois.qwest.net

I finally have rear brakes again after almost 2 months. The rear brakes are all brand new except for the drums. Now to get 4wd again and try to figure out the steering.

Found the unnerving vibration in the LJ's driveline. It seemed to go away a while back after chipping all the ice out of the t-case shovel, but it came back and it turns out the rear driveshaft front u-joint was toast...and I mean toast. Strangely enough, though, it didn't seem that loose when I got under there and shook it. I just had to look really close. Off to Young's tomorrow...

That's a good one. Sometimes you have a little better luck finding them if you jack the wheels off the ground and put the transmission in neutral. Also if you're checking the rear make sure the parking brake is not engaged. With the tension off the shaft, any play is more noticeable. I'm sure you already knew that but I thought I'd mention it for the novices out there.

Got a new daily driver
[Image: 2006_rubicon.jpg]
2006 Rubicon TJ, stock except for the 31 x 10.5 x 15 Super Swamper TSL's on MT wheels. I'm not sure of my plans for now. I may just wheel it as is until I wear out the tires then go larger. It will need some lift (maybe ACOS) to keep the tires from hitting the flares and a sway bar disco.

Congrats. I like how we get a new "daily driver" and imeediately start talking about wheeling, lifts, tire, etc...

Saw swampers on a white rubi....haven't seen another around. I noticed the lack of lift, but the tires looked the same. I didn't read the description.

Nice jeep, yet another Jeep, looks like the rest of you full size owners should take notes from C.A. :poke:

CA, as a fellow Chevy addict, you really dissapoint me... Sad

But congrats anyway!

Skitzo's front axle is back together - Lock-right installed in front carrier, new axleshaft u-joints, all bearings greased and hubs reassembled. Have to still add diff fluid, bolt up the front driveshaft, put the brakes calipers and pads on, and then tires... which I have to find more jackstands to take the 38's off of the rear of the blazer and swap them with the donuts on Skitzo - because if I go ahead and put the front tires on first I won't be able to get the rear tires around it in the garage to put them on.

After that it is finish the heater controls, and time and tune the engine and ... take her for a drive around the yard/snow piles. Big Grin

I really should find the extra exhaust tubing I have and extend that more reaward of the vehicle, it dumps out just behind the cab and underneath the battery tray and radiator - I'm thinking especially in the summer moving the exhaust away from the radiator may help in cooling. I should also investigate a fuel leak I can smell... Rolleyes

Hey, everyone needs a grocery getter now and then! :p

Got the brakes and tires on Skitzo... oil and such left to go...
Also found a leaking master cylinder...

Now I'll have to hear "pump three times and hold" for another week - which popds into my head for that length of time anytime someone mentions bleeding brakes.

I don't have any less Chevies. I'm keeping my CUCV and letting my son drive the Red '87 1/2 ton. The Jeep just fits in the garage a little better.
