Winter Solstice 2015
#1
12/19/2015
9 Mile
Temps around zero.

Attendees:
Brian and Sierra
Shane
Ryan
Eric and Val
Marek
Mark
Dan
Petey

Most of us met at the trail head at 9 and were rolling in random order by 915.
Went in to the dike, cut right down across the year-round creek, taking some pics and playing in the untouched snow.
Crossed the small pond and over the one significant mound in the area.

Eric, Dan, Marek, Mark got hung up and needed straps.
Shane went around.

We headed on and played on a meander of the Tanana, after chopping over 6 inches into the ice to prove it could hold us. As we roosted the snow off the ice, we were able to get some bad +++ spins going. I was able to lock the TJ in a tight brody that felt like a top. Sierra and I were getting dizzy and had to stop. I did remember to get my phone out and video the brody to the right.

Petey caught up with us at that point and mobbed the Dodge around a bit.
We then headed on to the second play area, checked out the creek and packed down some powder. Ryan caught up with us at this point. A few more junk cars have been dumped in the area since last year. Petey decided to go up the creek and found the nasty, sticky, black, sulfur-smelling mud.

We headed out, looping back to the ice again.

We all played a bit more, waiting for the sun to come up.
We then lined up and took the group shot.

No one was up for the run to Santa Claus house, and Petey lost his mud flap, so we all started out.

I let Sierra drive all the way out, and she had a blast.

Carnage:
Shane with enough frame flex to jam the front passenger bed corner into the cab.

Mark may have knocked an extra rattle in his tire carrier.
Petey left the trail with a noise somewhere deep in the area of the transmission....I'm sure he will post up if that is anything of significance.

Great run.
Great snow!

Now on to day light gaining.

My driver mirror fell off the housing.
The transmission was making noise because i took a tree branch in the inspection cover. It was just dented a little.
I lost a mud flap.
Had to reset my tire air channel again too. It started to leak because i forgot the o ring washer. As i write this the dodge is a few bolts from being ready to roll again!
And... The mud on my truck isnt stinky Smile
