Newbie Check-In Thread!!
Hi I am joe,

I am moving back to Fairbanks in about a month. I have not been there in 8 years, I went to UAF. I have a 89 k5 blazer with bunch of modifications. It would take a long time to list them all. Pics are easier.

Not my proudest moment:

Hi, Not sure if my last post made it. I am Joe and I am moving up from Alabama. I have a off-road capable 1989 k5 blazer. One ton's, 4:88's locked w/disks, 383 stroker with built trans, 39.5 boggers, crossover w/hydro-assist. Softopper, tractor paint, electric fans, trimmed fenders, shackle flip, 12k winch, built front and rear bumpers w/spare tire carrier, bed lined interior, approx 4 inch lift, rock sliders, lots of mud and tree kisses. Street legal. Should be fun.

The K5 will be up here in about a month. It needs a little engine work as I snapped a part of the distributor while setting the timing... I have started building up a K30 in the mean time. Getting vehicles shipped up here is expensive!

Sure is. Hopefully you can make it out on the trail soon. Or a meeting.

Wait.. Should I post here? Have I done that yet? Ok.. Here's me.

I'm Jimmy. I've lived in Fairbanks for 2.5 yrs. I work in Nome as an aircraft mechanic 2 wks on 2 wks off and I also co-own skydive DZ in Atlanta at which I pitch-in a couple times a summer.. SO I have a bit of a schedule, but I will make every AO event that I can.
I recently went on a mild prospect run with Dr Brian and Junkrunner which was an absolute blast!

Anywho, here's my crap-
'71 Land Cruiser FJ40
SOA
FJ60 front axle, all molly stuff, with a lockwrong
4 runner rear axle (swapping in a Ford 9" with a Yukon this winter)
Mostly stock 350 (EFI pending, because carburetors are stuuuuupid)
SM420
2nd gen Toy pickup xfr case with Marlin low range set
37" mud thingies
I just recently got this rig together and I do not use a tow-rig/trailer so I drive this everywhere I go wheeling. I drove it to Palmer a couple months ago and went to House Rock, Wishbone Lake, Jim Creek and a couple others. So far, so good!
Can't seem to add a picture here...

...and the standard, disposable GMC Sierra 1500 3" lift and mudders, just like everyone else's.

Hi! I just moved up here June 1st and am looking for trails and places to explore. I have a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sahara stock right now. I want to put a lift and tires on it to start out with but am not sure exactly what is best. Any advice?

Welcome.
If you don't know what to do, wheel it first and figure out how much cash you want to commit to get a setup you want. Don't need a lot of lift for 35s, which is why everyone uses them, but then you need gears.

There are a lot of trails (including winter wheeling) that a stocker will be fine.

I think I know who this is ;-) Welcome. Brian is the guy to listen to when it comes to building a jeep and not wasting a ton of money you don't make (she is a new soldier here at the hospital if I am correct) on useless gimmicky mall crawler crap.
