Welcome, you can do a lot just as you are. Hope to see you on the trail.

My name is Jennifer. New to Alaska. I have a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I havent done any modifications for offroading just because I had to drive a good distance to work (didnt want worse gas milage). I like going on trail rides that have great views for photo ops. Like playing in the mud too! As for big crazy rock crawling I will have to wait till have a back up car in case I kill the Jeep! Cant wait to go on some trips!

Welcome to Alaska and the club! You can do a lot with your jeep just as it is, but once you catch the bug you might want more. Carefull Driving, Decent tires and either a limited slip or locker will get you most places except through the deep mud and over the big rocks. The views from the top of the hills are awesome!

Welcome to our board and Alaska. We have a meeting coming up in a couple weeks. Our next scheduled ride is our Alaska 4x4 Meet and Greet Expedition in June but I'm sure there will be a few local shakedown runs before then for everyone to make sure their rigs are set before the big trip. Hope to see you at a meeting and on the trail.

Welcome to the board. You can still do quite a bit in your Jeep without all that other stuff. I have a 2007 and probably don't have much more than you except a small lift, rear locker, and 33" tires but it's enough to play.

There was talk about a run on the 1st. Might be a good chance to meet everyone and see what's up if it happens.

Glad to see you got the info and signed up. We have a meeting 7June in North Pole. Hope you can make it out.

Ditto on everyone.
Lots of trails that wont kill your rig.

Are you a BACH RN or in the grand civilian world?

Howdy All!

I am Jeff. I met some guys out at the American Tire car show today here in Fairbanks. I am a Network Admin for the Army. Ive been in state a few years now but just got my Jeep at the beginning of last summer and have been building it since. Its lifted with some Armor goodies and small trinkets about. Ive wheeled it a bit by myself but I would love to join a group. Hope I can be a good member if y'all see fit!

A Few Pics, one from around when I first got it, to now.

Hello everyone, I just drove my Jeep liberty from Buffalo NY 6,000+ miles to Anchorage. New to wheeling. Finishing up skid plates once I get some money and then I'll be hitting some newb trails first if possible. Can't wait to learn more about off roading 101 in these tiny vehicles, I'm used to the old army trucks I used to drive. 6x6, 8x8 and 10x10's.. Not to automatically savvy either.. Haha Murica F yeah!

Welcome. So are you staying down in Anchorage? Or did you just go down to check it out? We are up in fairbanks. That's a heck of a commute for meetings and trail rides. Have you checked out alaska4x4network yet? I also like the trailer.

Welcome, we have a meeting coming up in Aug, you and your family are more then welcome to come hang out and eat. We have a trail ride about every month, check the By Laws for requirements.

Sweetness!! When and were is the August meeting?? I'm anxious to meet everyone.

Upcoming Ride forum: August 3, "55 mile" which is likely to be an overnighter....out Chena Hot springs road and is a great scenery run, weather permitting. This is a fun run that would be fine for a stock JK and family. Just be certain you have the club required equipment...that is for safety, not just cool. If you go on this run, you WILL need to air down or risk popping tires on the long shale climb. Usually we winch a good number of folks up so as not to tear up the trail or tires...it is fun!

Meetings also have their own forum...that one should be 8/10, and is presently taking shape as the member hosting works on the slope. Sounds like in the afternoon/evening though.

Otherwise, welcome!
