Diff covers/ Diff armor
#1
What options are out there. So far I have seen
Rockcrusher
ARB
Warn

Both the Rockcrusher and ARB are a full diff cover while the Warn is a 3/16 diff guard. What else is out there for options? What is the best bang for the buck?

this looks ok, not great but not bad for the price.

the deal with a ring gear guard like this is that it doesn't protect from angular impact.

I want to say it was around $150ish and its well worth it! Its heavy, easy to install and has a killer fill drain system with magnets to collect the metal shavings.

Greer can cut you a ring from any thickness plate with their flowjet for a pretty reasonable $$ using a gasket, the old cover, or your own paper drawing as a template, Then you could piece together your own armor plating by welding to that. You could have a full cover for much less than $80-something + shipping for some bent tube and flat bar crap.

Nate does have a plasma cutter...

While he's at it, he should shave the bottom of the housing to get that last bit of height to make up for his tiny little tires. :poke:

Not really a fan of the gridiron rock-catchers.

Simple, easy, done.

i personally have had poor performance from ruffstuff....there welding sucks bottom line...warping is a big issue, too much heat during their welding process....GLO is where its at...i run a ruff 14 bolt cover that has been replaced due to warping...

Ha...the Great Lakes cover is what I was thinking of initially, i'd run that over the ebay special I posted. 1/4" thick plate, 1/2" thick ring, lifetime no-questions warranty...noice. Price is right too.

Nate - call Ole. I know he has some design plans for his own. I think he could beat any price out there and let you design what features you want. I'm telling you - Ole has skills!

Eric, that is a good price and a beefy looking cover. Almost overkill for what we have up here...

I really don't like the covers that just have a piece of steel over the ring gear portion.
They remind me of a thong sticking out of overstuffed pants...
The Rokmen covers are awesome & you can buy them as a set.

$200 for both and Oh yea, FREE Alaska shipping too! That gets my vote!
