Lots of stuff out there for the 14 bolt, as I understand it not too many gear or locker options for a Dana 70. Then again, the 14 bolt has a limit on how low the gears can go due to their design.

The D70 has it in the bag for strength-to-weight ratio but it's hard to beat 35 splines from the factory. The D70 has a lesser spline count than a D60 but a much larger shaft diameter. More details here: http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/D70/D70.htm

14 bolt are very, very common - parts readily available just about anywhere.

I don't know how the strength comparisons go - but I've seen many a 14 bolt survive where a Dana 60 didn't...

are 14 blts 30 or 35 spline? I thought they were 35 but all of the parts I seem to find are 30 spline.. for example...

Hrm, I thought they were 35 spline....ARB says 30 spline as well. According to them, a D60HD comes with 35 spline shafts in chevys.

Eh, I'm no Chevy guy...sorry if I led you in the wrong direction.
