old 80s ford layn around

so i was reviewing my truck inventory with my wife on the messenger, and she brougth up a certain old ford i got for free. got it for the warn whinch on the front. anyway, i was gonna part it out, but got to thinkn, what if i made it a cheap trail truck instead. mods like take off the bed, build a skitzo style tire carrier, after i shorten the frame, take off the fenders, put a set of used 40s or so on it, weld the bacl axle, run some sewage hose for snorkle, the wheel the crap outa it. what u guys think. if i got help with it from the club id let it by used as a backup rig when someones went down so they can keep wheeln if theres is in the shop
