It is supposed to replace the Wrangler...A Four door...Rumor has it, TJ will be replaced with KJ based vehicle. Gone are solid front axles, and ladder frames with the 4.0L pushing it all. In are IFS unibody framed cute-ute styled vehicles pushed with a 2.4L 4cyl, 2.8L Desiel, or the destructable 3.7L V6.

No, I really don't think it;s IFS. A few people from Jeepforum.com saw testing for this and other test mules and saw a definite live front axle. You can also plainly see the live axle in the front shot in that link.

Rumors also have it that the Rubicon will have 2" higher suspension height and 33" tires along with the current D44 locked axles.

Here's one of the pics from the link......sad demise of a great base to build a 'wheeler with.

Yeah I really don't see much of a difference other than the 4 doors, which was very well taken with the Rescue concept, the most sought concept Jeep behind the Gladiator. I'd drive the 2 door version, don't know if I want a 4 door though...I'd like to keep my SWB.

I'd like to keep the Solid axle in the front though

Like i said, many people first-hand witnessed this test mule at Paragon and the Rubicon trail and saw solid front axle, and you can see it as well as SFA control arms in those pictures.

Saw the pictures from mph magazine today. It's using the 3.7 out of the Pacifica, not the engine out of the liberty.

5" wider. Kevin, you won't be the only one smacking branches anymore!

The hard top is also 3 pieces. Ick.

At least it's still solid axles and removable doors.

The Pacifica has a 3.5, not a 3.7, according to http://www.chrysler.com Angel.

saw that in a magazine months ago.... it's not the wrangler replacement. It's not known what it'll be called, but it's supposed to be diesel and solid axle. Even DC won't mess up the wrangler that bad, it sells way to well for that... however it is supposed to get the 3.7 really soon.

the really sad thing is that if y'all are waiting for a "good" offroad vehicle to keep coming off the Assembly lines, good luck. the vast majority of people are pavement pounders and the market WILL go that way. companies are too money hungry NOT to.

3.8 from the pacifica, that sounds about right. Chrysler only has that for the 2005.

18" wheels in the sahara....wtf? better have 33" rubber around them.
