Yes being locked in the rear can pose somewhat of a challenge when driving on ice. But it also gives you much more traction I personally like it a lot better, but also grew up in a era of driving rear wheel drive cars on ice, so I like sideways action drifting is fun. Locked in the rear and running four wheel drive makes it easy to drive.

Just what I was going to say... I have a full Detroit locker in the back of my Scrambler and have a blast with it. Hwy driving in two wheel drive is where to watch out. Don't gas it to pass someone or you'll have a hand full. Around town I have gotten pretty good at steering with the go peddle. The added traction is a big plus for me too.
