Whadaya think of those H3's?

The minute I found a lifted IFS toyota on 33's couldn't do what I could in my stock Jeep on 31's ONLY because of lack of articulation, I knew I would never drive an IFS vehicle on a trail like the ones we have. I like the H3, but I'll stick with the Jeep. It just seems to me sometimes that you're the hater, always doing your best to put down Jeeps for some odd reason or another. There's a reason Wranglers are still around and the FJ40 isn't, until only recently. Why is that? I don't really know, I really don't care, but you seem to an awful lot.

A Toyota with a crappy IFS lift can't do what a stock jeep can? Wow, go figure. A vehicle with a cheaply modified road-tuned suspension versus one that's off-road-minded isn't going to be a contest. There ARE good IFS lifts but few people buy them because they're expensive. The same could be said for a good long arm kit.

I wasn't trying to put down jeeps at all with my statement. The Rubicon is a mildly modified version of a vehicle designed in the mid-1990's. The H3 was designed very recently. There really shouldn't be any argument that the H3 is a more refined vehicle, and the people buying them want that. Not everyone likes a solid axle in a daily driver.

And that's all besides the point. I said "In certain situations". When I want articulation, I want a solid axle. When I want high speed and hard landings IFS wins hands down.

As for FJ40's...They aren't around because Toyota redesigned them and didn't bring the replacement here. The reason? Toyota designed their vehicles for work, jeep for play. Completely different market segments. You won't find many wranglers overloaded daily in a mine and you won't find many 70-series cruisers driven to high school.

Some people just don't want a jeep. Everyone is entitled to their own preference. A Rubicon is an excellent rig but it is not for me. It just seems like a huge number of jeep people don't understand that concept.

I suggested the FJ Cruiser as a decent alternative to an H3 that is far less likely to get the person's **** size attacked by idiots. Is an FJ Cruiser for me? No. Is an H3 for me? No. But I won't rule them out for other people simply because they're not what I desire.
