The only lunchbox lockers I have ever installed have been in Jeep-Dana axles, so I am not even certain but I think I have an open carrier for the ford 9.
The deal is though, the spider gears are completely encased in the housing and I cannot see a way to get them out to install a lunchbox or to see if there is a cluthpack in there.
the silly carrier only has 2 peep hole about 3/4" in size.

Anyone?

The carrier needs to be completely removed and the ring gear removed...then you have a roll pin you take out which lets you separate the split carrier to get at the innards.

To see if it's an open carrier vs. a Limited slip, look at the ring gear bolts. If they're against a flat surface, it's an open carrier. If the ring gear bolt heads are recessed into the carrier flange, it's a limited slip.
