H.R. 1925, a federal bill designed to close down land in Utah, a gross overstepping of Federal Government bounds by interfering with the rights of the States. If this continues, it'll be only a matter of time before Alaska is next in line.

Have a read and take a minute to fire off a form letter to Don Young.

Committee is hearing panelists on this matter right now. Out of 6 panelists one is a bill opponent, the rest are pro-shutdown, and from what I'm hearing, and responses by people on Pirate who live in the area, a bunch of the statistics they're tossing out there are plain lies.

This is going to be passed by Committee due to the stacked deck, but we need to get more voices out there so this doesn't get out of the House of Reps. Sad
So can anyone post a similar link to our HR ???

A series of threads on Pirate4x4.com have been going full-throttle about this bill and the testimony given yesterday. Many of the businesses associated with the Outdoor Industry Association, and the president of the OIA itself have responded directly to many members of PBB in response to an overwhelming outcry by OHV users. These responses invariably claim that their respective businesses and organizations in fact do NOT support H.R. 1925 and that Peter Metcalf (the CEO/Co-Founder President and Vice chair of OIA who spoke "for OIA" at the hearing yesterday) was merely speaking for himself but falsely representing the Outdoor Industry Association. This is a nail in the coffin of the testimony Mr. Metcalf presented yesterday. We are trying to pressure OIA to drop Mr. Metcalf from their Board of Directors in response to his false representation.

Co-Owner's call-out of OHV supporting organizations to fill us in on their efforts to counter the testimony made yesterday.

As more important threads are created I'll cross-post them here. A lot of good information in them which can be used to formulate letters to representatives.
