replaced the thermostat, fixed the stock gauge and got the triple gauge set working, so far no leaks and everything seems to work fine, Aussie locker on order I don't think it will be here in time for the run, and I still need to wire up the CB, GPS, buy a new fan shroud, make a mount inside to hold my winch and fill it up. Then all I will have to do is make bumpers, rock sliders, roof rack, tube fender flare, ????????
At least its working for now.

Front diff pulled apart. Bad o-rings are the culprit to the ARB not working. Headed to town tonight or tomorrow to get some from a buddy.
Winch torn apart, cleaned, and waiting to find the grease to put it back together. Man the grease that was in there was the thickest stuff I've ever seen. After taking this apart I see why it can be better than some. The brake assemble for one beats the drum style in warns and others. It is a spring loaded assemble that doesn't use pads or anything like that. When it goes to rotate the opposite direction it hits a stop and wont move. Also waiting on switches to wire in the in cab winch controls. I'll get another remote down the road, mnie got busted. The plug end met a tree and te remote met a dodge.

The arb is fully operational. First time in almost a year it has worked right. Two stuid o-rings was the only problem. You can't use regular orings. they are a special material and aren't round. Anyways it works. Still waiting on the bill for them and hope it isn't too much.
Winch still can't find the grease. I finally figured out which kinds to get but can't find it in town. So tomorrow I'll hit up some more specialty shops, if they are open, and hopefully find it.

Yeah he used valvoline syn power #986. No one that was open today had it. Napa only has #985. I'm going to hit up some shops tomorrow if they are open and see if I can find it or another grease like it.

Mel, I was really happy with how the Warn controller worked out on the T-Maxx winch I had on the Grizzlybeaver. (of course it was already sold by that time, but it worked GREAT) It was basically combining the better parts of the 2 brands. Even the people at Redding call those T-Maxx boomer boxes "cheap, made in China carp". You're right, though, the business end of a T-Maxx is some heavy duty $#!t.
16 Feb 10, 05:34 pm
I like the boomer box. What makes it better is the fact it is a solid state instead of individual solenoids. the remote well not the best. I'll be wiring in the in cab controll and still waiting on a regular remote for back up. May just make my own.

Yeah, they're super cool, I'm not arguing that at all. Having that wireless setup was awesome when Ole and I pulled that FSJ onto a trailer. It's just that the wiring and assembly is done by drunken monkeys and the electronic components are cheap junk. You're pretty much hosed if the little computer chip brain fries on the trail... mine blew in the driveway, luckily.
Lemme bust a rhyme about that situation for ya... No little jumper wires to pull in a pinch...just a mutha-frackin' dead @$$ winch.

Actually you can use wires. It's the same concept as wiring in a cab control. I don't really care about the wireless. I never used it. Then the remote and reciever wouldn't talk togeth right and it wouldn't go in wireless but worked fine with it plugged in. The chip can (and will be in mine) bypassed. That chip is only for wireless.

once again i got a new vehicle, its a ramcharger, so tuning the carb and then just driving it, anyone know how to lift these things for cheap?

Body Lift. I had a 79, I wish I never sold it!

Some mud flaps to keep johnny law happy and working on a lightweight trail groomer. Needs some more weight to work better. It "floats" a little to good on the harder snow.

Yearly oil change performed on the dodge. New air filter but bought the wrong one.
Lost keys to every vehicle I own. And it's expensive to replace the one for the dodge and the key fob.
XJ still has a power drain on it and I haven't had time to look at it.

Thanks to Don for coming out twice now I have two transmission sitting on the garage floor. Today we got mine out. I put my t-case on it and replaced my flex pate as the holes were sort of egg shaped. The torque converter bolts weren't very tight. But I hit another snag as I have for the past two weeks. I had to quit to run some errands and now have to clean up and be ready to be called in. After our easter stuff tomorrow I'll get it pu in. Then to start getting the winch reinstalled.
