changed the spark plugs and wires on the FJ today. I have no idea how this thing was running. when I pulled the wires they just pulled apart. and It past IM yestarday.
naturalbornmudder Wrote:that looks great Ron. How much time did it take you for prep and application?
It took a full day (tear down, sand. clean, and application) I took a lot more time in prep hoping that I wont have to do it again. I put down 3 coats in the high traffic areas and the bed to try and keep it from wearing. I didnt put my stuff back in until this morning to give it a bit more time to dry out, but I am pretty happy with it.
Blazer
* Trans won't hold 3rd gear
* T-case won't hold 4 hi - pops into 2. 4 lo works though
* Front Pass side hub works intermittenly
* Winch control box mount broke, causing a short in the wiring. Wiring was fixed before Sunday's recovery, but the control box is being held on by zip strips.
* Rear tailgate window still isn't wired
* Electrical problems from 55 mile still haven't been resolved
* Duct tape holding pass side tailgate got ripped off - needs fixed correctly - which will entail some body work so that it fits in it's original spot again.
On a good note, I have a new dent from the recovery!
In other words, though the Blazer did great the other night, she needs some much deserved attention.
Is the exahust good to go, or does it need reworked?
I think he forgot about that.
It's going to need some work. It was pinched pretty bad where it bent.
It was jacked up before we even went out on Sunday night.
the xj
Rock sliders on
Different rear springs on
ACOS need adjusted now to match the lift height in the back now.

All the above is correct.
I've needed new mufflers for some tiome now.
The pipes were ok before SUnday, but the hangers had broken and I had wired them up - then the wires broke and I ran over it
Is exhaust tubing DOM? If so I cna bend it myself!
It's too thin for my bender Kevin. I've already tried. Best bet is to try to get the bends at napa and weld. I have about 8' of 2" od exhaust tube. If you need it, it's yours. I also have a tube expander if you need it.
Never mind. You gutter-minds would have quoted this.
Got home at 9, packed some gear, got all the stuff out for a quick bumper/winch mount build (I'm going for 1 hour completed). Wiring tidied up and more of it working.
Need:
wiper
tack floor pan in
oil pressure switch
33" spare (anybody got a loose one I can borrow?) I can always steal Merik's when he goes to sleep I guess...
I have a spare 33 with 6 bolt Chevy pattern wheel, you're welcome to it.
I got 4 33s for you. two of them on 5x4.5
I installed a had throttle on the Hummer today, scavenged it from a chevy cab at the transfer site. Should work fine on the cold mornings when I want to idle it up high to warm that diesel up.
Trail'd the ZJ again yesterday. I'm still terrified of unibody. Just freaks me out when my roof creaks going over bumps. I'm pretty sure a long arm suspension will cure this, with the control arms bolted to a single crossmember. I'll also install some rock sliders, and hopefully that'll all be solved. I'll also need some rear axle work, as the open d35 just won't cut it.
The TJ is donig fine. I'm thinking of pulling the front locker out and see what the road manners are like. I need to get this thing safe and comfortable, as the FS signs may be going on it in October.
Toyota is running a little smoother adn idles below 1000 rpms
XJ needs alot of work and soon.
Axle seals changed, all fluids changed, shocks changed out (a call to ron is in the works), alignment bad, bushing on leaf springs changed, drain plugs changed to something better, rear bumper built soon, and much more just don't want to waste too much of your time making you read this.
My power steering box finally made it in from AGR. I am happy it finally made it so I can get my jeep back on the road. I did manage to get alot of other small things done like install a snorkel, Buff out some for the trail scars, and fix a few other minor problems that I have had. I just can't wait to get it back together so I can hit the trail again.
My tubing finally came in today for my crossover steering. Just finished tapering the holes in my hi-steer arms. I now have a collection of front shafts and new U-joints. Tomorrow I start the rebuild on the front end.
put new feul pump in and it is running like a dream. Just found out my Lockers, gears and winch will be here by tuesday. "Happy Happy Joy Joy"
still have to pull Fuel tank and change gasket. not too happy about that.
Passenger slider on hold its been raining. front bmper build on hold waiting for winch.
The ZJ is getting cleaned up and ready for the in-laws to make their dream trip down the Alcan. It'll get spoiled when I get it back in November.
The TJ has 4 matching wheels now, and 8 matching adjustable control arms. I'm gonna get an alignment real soon, and then I'll make the call if I want to remove the front Lock-right for better road manners. I only pushed back the wheelbase 3/4" in the rear, but my driveshaft is unsettlingly short. we'll see on the ramp, I suppose.
Probably still sell it in October. I'm tired of 2 doors, and it;s poor handling. I will deeply miss the convertible top and trail performance, though. Can't have everyting...
Still on blocks. New better high steer arms installed. new steering arms mocked up ready to weld but can't weld them yet. Have to make sure they will still work with 8"-10" of lift and a 3" wheelbase stretch. Should be able to run my 46's after I upgrade the axles.
This is getting stupid in a hurry. Just started the project and got swamped at work so it's going really slow.
a larger accumulation of parts gathers int he garage waiting for the start of my lil Chief build. I am building for a Rubicon trail run in 08 and a spring 09 Moab run.
Here is a link to some pics of my Bronco.

I am looking to find a 3.9L Cummins motor. The 302 is having a lot of blow by so it loses some oil when ran hard. Soon I will have a 5.5 inch lift and 36s. Lockers a little farther down the read.

You still have the tracks? That would be sweet!
Yeah I still have the tracks but they are back in Colorado. I ran out of room in my trailer on the way up here. Looking back I should have left some furniture.
